Akarsha Weerasooriya holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London and is a Junior Counsel with experience appearing before the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal, High Court, District Court, and Magistrate’s Court, as well as in outstation courts across the country.

He has been involved in a range of corporate, civil, and criminal cases, with a focus on litigation and trial advocacy. His experience includes legal drafting and research, particularly in the preparation of bail applications, writs, fundamental rights petitions, and written submissions.

In addition to his legal practice, he has a background in writing, digital media, and content creation. He has also represented his school and rowing club at the national and provincial level in competitive rowing
